Touch the Good Side

When we touch the good side in people, we discover that there is much goodness that our eyes may not be able to see at first glance!!
I have tried this myself with many, even with those who appear at first as wicked or having little compassion.
If you show some sympathy to their faults and foolishness; some true cordiality to them and some genuine care- not artificial- to their interests and their concerns, then the spring of goodness in their souls will be revealed to you. That is when they give you their love, cordiality and trust in return for the little things you provide them from your own self whenever you give them in loyalty, sincerity and purity.

Evil is not deeply rooted in the human soul to the extent we may sometimes imagine. It is only in that hard outer shells by which humans face the struggle of life to survive. Whenever they feel safe, this hard shell reveals sweet and pleasant fruit. It only uncovers to those who can make people feel they have peaceful intentions, and can give them true cordiality and real sympathy in their struggle, pains, errors and foolishness as well. Showing some generosity at the very beginning can achieve all this sooner than many would expect. I have tried all of this, tried it myself. I do not raise it as just some winged words resulting from dreams and illusion.

Voluntary Night Prayer

Al-Hassan al-Bassry said, “I have found nothing of the acts of worship more vigorous than qiyam (voluntary night prayer). It was said to him, “Why do those, who pray voluntary at night have the best faces?” He answered, “That is because they devote themselves to be alone with their Lord, so He provides for them a ray of His Light”

Fasting is an ancient ritual which is common in all religions. Those who like controversy always ask, “How come that God creates for us a mouth, teeth, pharynx and stomach to eat and then ask us to fast?! How come He creates beauty and lust then asks us to lower our gaze and be chaste? Is that reasonable?”

I say to them it is the only reasonable thing. God gives you a horse to ride and not to be ridden by it. You are supposed to subjugate the horse and lead it, not to be led by it. Your body is your horse which is created for you to ride, control, lead and use for your own purpose. You are not supposed to be subjugated by your body or used to achieve its lusts and desires. Hence, controlling desire, steering whim and bridling stomach are the signs of man.

Beauty of Faith

Beauty is divided into two types: external and internal beauty. The inside beauty is loved for itself; it is the beauty of knowledge, mind, generosity, chastity and courage. This inside beauty is what Allah (SWT) looks at and loves in His servant. Moreover, this inside beauty beautifies the external image, even if it is bare of beauty, and coats it with splendor, sweetness and reverence as much as one’s soul acquires of these qualities. The believer is given sublimity and splendor according to his faith, so he is revered by those who see him and loved by those who deal with him.

Islamic Leaders

The leaders our Muslim nation needs are those who have no glory, no celebrity or glitter. We need faithful anonymous leaders who do not care about masses applause.
The Prophet (PBUH) said: The Almighty Allah loves the pious, innocent believers; those who are not missed when being absent or known when being present. Their hearts are lights of guidance, and they come out safe of every dark, blind ordeal.
